[Gasification] gas quality and engine lifespan?

Dear Doug, David, Kevin, etal, I bow to the superior experience of Doug, in
terms of the actual reasons for the lubrication problems that have been
present in the past. It may well have been fine particles, because as
stated at that stage it was charcoal gasifiers that were being used and it
was only dry filtration through a very tightly woven cloth tube filter
system.
I am aware that gas engines have run very long hours and we have also
been there done that with a commercial BTG gasifier burning wood billets.
However,
I still stand by Cliff Pederick's story as to how he got a 10,000 mile run
round and round some race track in Perth W.A. by taking out the oil control
rings.
