When I left Montreal 20 years back they were already running Taxis in
compressed methane (natural gas) tanks -- to 2000 PSI -- composite plastic
tanks.
I last checked -- the technology is now up to 3000 PSI.
It is not liquified -- compressed!!
Composite plastic tanks can be produced for about the same price as steel
LPG tanks -- if incentive to do such -- as in huge market -- was there.
It then makes no real difference to the end user -- a tank is a tank and
cooks so many meals.
It is "proven" technology -- not sci-fi!!
Why bio methane??
Because a very large segment of the population living on earth in these
times will not allow ethanol in any form or shape!!
Hey -- if I came up with the perfect energy solution based on using "Weed"
-- would it be allowed in the US -- England -- etc??
Big picture -- right!!
The modern industrialized nations once were the center of the Universe --
but hey -- do note -- that is rapidly changing!!
As individuals you can look out of that box -- if so inclined.
Believe but one thing -- bio-methane will always be a legitimate contender
to ethanol in the fuel from foods program!!
Get use to that -- eh???
And last -- when talking sugar cane as the food energy source -- you get
bagasse as by product for a gasifier -- either route!!
This just happens to be one niche were small gasifiers can really shine --
unlike so many other niches being proposed -- where basically -- we all be
but dreaming in many splendorous colors.
The Gasifier for this already exists -- I have four in storage!!
If I was rich -- I could have Doug come over to set them up -- but I am not!!
And everyone else appears to be only interested in spinning out more dream.
