When I was looking at small tidal power systems, I was  delighted to  
see how easy it would be to store power for just six hours.  I think  
that it is worth looking at pumped storage even on a small scale.   
Supplementary windmills can pump water at high efficiency and low  
investment.  Even if a water tower has to be erected, I might prefer  
it to an equivalent bank of batteries.  Has anyone done the numbers  
on this?
