  This scientific documentary is one of the best I have seen and should send Al Gore scrambling for his Ouija board. It will be interesting to see if this has any impact upon the snowballing panic underway in the media. All of the arguments pale against the real science. Now we need one to address the Big Bang crock.

  Rather than point fingers - our environment is changing and I think we can
all agree on that. 

Do the math - new forecasts for world population in 2050 - up slightly to
9.2 billion, or a rise of 2.5 billion (equivalent to the whole human
population in 1950) - now over 6 billion - what is the carrying capacity of
this plant based on how the 17.5% of the population that's consuming over
85% of the global resources being produced. It took humans 125 million years
to use the first 1 trillion barrels of oil, we will use the next trillion in
less than 30 years.

The reality is we are living in a world that is ruled by growth - because
growth builds wealth - I myself would much rather have sustainable growth
that takes into account the most efficient means and environmentally
conscious forms of growth and where methodologies and responsibilities are
combined with greener lifestyles that are integrated into our retail therapy
- throw away consumerism life styles. 

Are we living beyond our means?...... are we taking from future generations?
......probably ..... I love my life and have what 100 years ago was only a
dream - by all mean I am fortunate to live a life that is by all means
luxurious when compared to others......some of us are extremely fortunate to
have what we do........given the fact that humans are now consuming more
resources than we have ever before. 

One statistic makes clear the demand placed on earth by our economic system:

Every day the worldwide economy burns an amount of energy the planet
required 10,000 days to create. Or, put another way, 27 years worth of
stored solar energy is burned and release by utilities, cars, houses,
factories and farms every 24 hours. 

Is that sustainable?

Perhaps today's businesses and corporations need to consider three basic but
important issues:

(1) what they take, 
(2) what they make, and 
(3) what they waste

And the three have never been more intimately connected than they are today.
With huge volumes of resources being consumed and an ever-growing demand on
the eco-system we must reevaluate how we do business.

At the very end of the day there is a considerable amount of money being
invested and made by global warming and where there is huge volumes of money
you have the unavoidable.......POLITICS

But History has shown that first movers benefit during a period of
transition. Today's corporations could learn from this and drive transition,
using their human and financial capital to good effect.

"Successful companies will be those that capture the tide of increased
demand, reduce their energy costs and manage their risk better. They would
then see climate change as a business opportunity rather than an economic
threat."
