Simply because they have been looked for and not found does not mean 
that there is not a natural cause.

It would appear that there is. As shown in the UK Document, the CO2 LAGS 
the warming. It might aggravate it after it is started, but it does not 
appear to start it. Even if it does tend to aggravate it under 
laboratory conditions, it might not tend to aggravate it under "real 
world" conditions, where there may be corrective measures triggered, as 
suggested by the Gaia Hypothesis.

I don't know if we are witnessing an "extreme reaction now... there are 
reported instances of (dead) Mastedons being found with grass still in 
their mouths. That would certainly be an extreme event. Instances so 
extreme that 10's or hundreds of feet of vegetation could grow so fast 
that it didn't have a chance to rot, but had an opportunity to turn into 
coal, are extreme. Do such extreme instances show up in your data base?
