[Gasification] Producer Gas Driven Engine w/ Liquid Fuel Assist

Peter and Mike,
My 30lb sucrose to 1 gallon of ethanol is based on my own home-brewing.

The basic recipe was always 3lb sugar to I gallon water plus the fruit or
vegetable for the flavour. Yes, I have made parsnip wine and many other
obscure ones.

With a good yeast this would ferment out to dry and yield about 10% alcohol,
i.e. 1/10 gallon of ethanol. Therefore 30lbs sugar to 1 gallon of ethanol.

I am not sure how technology could dramatically improve on this yield. There
is no residual sugar in the finished brew.

I should qualify this, Imperial lbs and gallons, so a short change US gallon
would only require 4/5 of 30lb, 24lb sugar to a US gallon.

Ken

OK -- that sounds about right -- there are losses involved in real time
production.

A lot depends on exactly what kind of sugar -- sucrose -- glucose -- and
mixtures and variations -- etc.

sugar beet sugar might indeed require 30 lbs

Brazil sugar cane might well indeed be runing higher than 10% sugar yileds
-- as does our Berlize variety.
