Short note:

I was using special washers with embedded K type TC 30 years ago -- buying
them from OMEGA -- for about $1.00 each.

You simply torqued one down under any bolt on your device and got
consistent accurate temperature readings.

They came in all sizes.

It is quite easy these days to find digital K type TC readers -- and at
very attractive pricing.

You can roll your own using a small PIC board for probably less than $10.00
-- and have all kind of set and break points --

How close is Nashua, NH to Berlin NH Dave??

**********************************************

I sure trucked a lot of pulp to Berlin!!

It's forty below and there is lot's of snow

The roads are ice and that aint nice

but it's of the Berlin I have to go --

Got fourteen cords on this truck of mine --

up and down those hills in time

Just to be the first on in that line

*******************************

But the opening stanza of a song I wrote that got me lot's of free beers
back "when"

Seriously off-topic -- back to topic ---

I used a neat Motorola controller board based on the 68ch11 chip back then
to monitor 16 or more "washers" on large industrial machines -- like high
rise 2000 HP chillers --- in Montreal. And used the built in modem to send
messages by phone should anything go wrong.

Granted -- a little ahead of times --
