Dear Tom,

I was going to stay out of this one but what the hey:

Small scale, yes. If you are a master of all trades. In other words you
build it yourself AND you already have a use for it. For example: the
gasifier supplies the fuel for your farm (or what ever). The charcoal
produced would be used for Terra Preta. Any tar produced would need to be
used so that we do no damage to the environment. But I have my doubts on
how many people could take advantage of this.

Maybe this is not small scale gasification but micro scale gasification.

I just can not understand how we could supply enough biomass for a lot of
large gasification to electric plants.
