Yesterday I went to the local (small, 6000? students) university
library. A search on "Fluidized Bed Combustors" etc yielded me three
interesting hits in the government documents section, and a good
half-dozen in the Engineering library. Including a $160 book I nearly
bought that morning on Amazon.com (Radonvanovic's "Fluidized Bed
Combustion"). Plus you get the great synchronicity of real live a
physical document retrieval (i.e. you see all the interesting stuff near
the books you're looking for).
I was able to sign them out for the summer since my wife is an English
prof, though I dunno what signing out a dozen "Fluidized Bed
Combustion"-themed books is going to do for her image ;-). But even if
I couldn't sign them out I could have read them in the library.
The library didn't have "Combustion and Gasification in Fluidized Beds",
perhaps it is too new and/or there is no longer an active research
interest in this area at the university. I've got it on order from
Amazon.ca, with a 4-6 week delivery time; in the meantime, I have a
stack of older reading material to churn through...
