They are building CHP systems in 250 kWe modules in the UK at a cost of
about US$3600/kWe without switchgear or grid connections. The "agricultural
waste" would be wood chunks.
If I understand correctly their projects are most often funded with NFFO
subsidies.
Other gasifier suppliers in Europe or the UK tend to be building projects
that are either larger or smaller. You can find several suppliers listed at:

I am running this again as the info in the original may be misleading as to
the scale of what we have in mind. It should read 500 KW not 500 mw as
originally put.
I am a member of a rural village group (Somerset UK) looking into Community
owned power generation schemes (a 500KW wind turbine is one possibility)
The project is at a very early stage and it may make more sense to look at
alternative means eg combining resources with a local farm and utilise
agricultural wastes for power generation. CHP would be good too.
Is there anyone out there who has experience, good or bad, of setting up a
project such as this.
Regards Paul Stubbs
