[Gasification] Woodgas Truck

Dear Glen:

The new rig looks beautiful. Great pictures, though I couldn't deduce
the control system from the dashboard knobs and switches.

You should consider putting an oxygen sensor in the exhaust line. A two
wire sensor costs ~ $30 and indicates too rich, too lean and just
right. Lean is 0-80 millivolts (you'll need a meter) and rich is >600
mv. You could put an automatic control on the choke to keep it in
range. Maybe you could use the same oxygen sensor already on the truck.

How big is your wood fuel and what is the moisture content?

Keep me posted on how she goes. Wish we were closer together....

Looks like you have a great working farm.

If you haven't seen it, check out the movies of two Swedish dudes making
and running a woodgas car around Sweden at

You could write them directly at johan at vedbil.com and send them your
pictures and questions for comments. I hope to see your truck soon
somewhere on the web.
Onward,
