Given the fact that the moisture level of the woody feedstock is one of the
single most important factors in extracting the energy from it; I'm guessing
that it takes less energy & TIME to grow hay; let it dry in the sun , gather
and compress it into bales; than it does to reduce the moisture in wood.
Wood harvested in Winter has a lower moisture level than in spring when the
sap rises. Wood chips vs. hay/low shrubs...which is 'best'?

Toby ; to dry firewood is possible to use waste heat of gasifiers and
exhausts gases. Is very good to show where is possible to obtain hard wood
higher content of energy. Remember clearing forests to avoid wild fires.
