Andy and all
In the last days of automobile carburetors a computer was used to adjust
a mixture valve
based on an oxygen sensor. The valve was operated by a reversible dc
motor.
I would like to try to control an air valve with this setup.
It should be possible to parallel the two computer inputs.
My 86 Ford 300 six has one, also the last AMCs, possibly the same system.
Keep chopping

< .................. Andy Schofield ...........writes
<The signal from the oxygen sensor is indeed 80 millivolts when operating
steady-state. This sensor shares it's signal <with the Ford computer.

< Targeting 80 millivolts with manual controls distracts the driver
from the task at hand. If an air-valve could be positioned <by logic, a
biomass-fueled vehicle could be operated much more safely.
