[Gasification] fuel level monitoring

In my pressurized application, I use a thermowell to detect the fuel
level. It is a pipe capped at the lower end, with thermocouples inside,
spaced along the length. The temperature drops going up inside the
pile, then is nearly constant above the pile. I have an updraft
application, where tars would blacken windows and may foul moving
mechanisms, but I would expect a thermowell to work in a downdraft
gasifier as well.

Subject: [Gasification] fuel level monitoring
Dear Sirs,
We are looking for a solution to monitor the inside of our downdraft
gasifier. Can you please advise on a possible solution, so that we can
check if it is suitable for our application ?
The fuel, in the form briquettes, is fed on the top of the gasifier. We
need to see the level of the fuel inside in order to run well and
continuously.
Sincerely yours,
Bora
