Mike; dry regions dont consider lower trees as higher and soybeans interests are cleaning up regions without any prevision of water retention and underwater recharge of regions with very high salinity. In Argentine, Chaco province is deforested from a century. There in Resistencia we was worked with Engineer Arturo Aeberhard in a gasifier for charcoal of hard wood like prosopis spp.or schinopsis spp near 1990.We write an matter in La Prensa newspaper of Buenos Aires in december 1984 showing an plantation of "quebracho colorado" national tree of Argentine. Also was MSc Ulrich Graf builder of "ferrocement gasifier" stay there . This is an interesting option for regions of scarce resources.
Regards; Benjamin

Let's try to keep the focus on gasification.
As I have offered before, I will set up another list focused on politics
if there is enough interest.
