[Gasification] [Stoves] Stoves in China

Thomas,
it is shurely impressive to see these dimensions.
But as far as I can see this is plain burning and the flame pattern and
colour in the video is one that stains pots and smells.
Also the boiler at the end of the video is producing more black liquor than
necessary, thus wasting fuel and producing soot problems.
The genuine husk gazzies as build in the Phillipines seem to be way ahead of
these. And they produce char in a probably useful form.
Perhaps Daixu could be a good partner to the Philipinos ?

Dear Paul and All:
I recommend that we all watch the movie in Paul's essay on the DAXU stove.
http://www.ashdenawards.org/wmv_2007_daxu
It is our dream come true. It shows what a dedicated government program
and vision can do relative to the feeble efforts of underfunded
organizations. So China has pulled way ahead of the rest of the world
both in the technology of woodgas stoves and the production. Check out
those thousands of stoves in production.
In particular, notice the widescale production and use of corn stover
briquettes.

While this stove may be good for China, the principles of TLUD need to
be adapted to each country, its cooking needs and its production
abilities. We are producing a "TLUD Research Stove Kit" for those who
want to experiment.
Yours truly,
TOM REED THE BIOMASS ENERGY FOUNDATION
