Geoff,
Give it a rest. You make me nostalgic for Peter Singfield. At least he was
entertaining, at times!

?I know .
?Lets ALL talk about compost.as this is really on topic
?As this is far more to do with energy management than the billions of
dollars we are now spending on preserving our food.
Because? some one has "Researched" the "CAUSE" of a hole in the ozone layer
at the south pole.
The research was not performed by the experts in the field of solar studies.
The sun is the producer of ozone didn't"t you know?
If the suns rays are weak, or absent from an area guess what? no ozone.
The study of the ozone layers in the polar regions is "too new" to make
assertions as to the cause or effect, that is, unless enough money has been
pumped into the research.
The sun and wind on the ocean's? surface produce far more ozone than man
could produce in a thousand years.
If by chance the earth is not producing the right magnetic influence, or the
sun is "heating up other planets" as it has a habit of doing, then a hole
might appear larger than normal. so why should I have to go out and buy a
new refrigerator?
I will adjust my stance on this, when someone can tell me who financed the
research, what was the researchers expertise.and what alternative
explanations are given.

Well, if you don't want to hear it from Max, could you clean out some
space so somebody else can have a go? Assuming you want to risk
getting booted for going off topic, that is.
Best,
Bob Stuart
