If I fund a study of the relationship of cancer and asbestos dust
inhalation and a causal relationship is found and no other studies
are done, does that remove the possibilities of other causes? Quite
obviously no.

If a group with an agenda funds a study with narrowly specified
goals, does that make the study invalid? No, but it does make the
study of limited value.

If a study of Thalidomide were made on only 20 to 60 year old men in
otherwise good health, no birth defects would be found, but it does
not mean that the same study with no gender discrimination would not
show any, nor would it show defects if the study was 6 months
long. After all, it requires a willingness to look at defects as a
result of the dosing of Thalidomide.

What some here are saying is that the breakdown products of R-12 do
have an effect on ozone, but the ozone hole may be caused by more
than those products.

If a study is commissioned of hammers and screws, findings could
include one that screws can be successfully driven into wood by a
hammer. Does that invalidate a screwdriver?
