People who actually have faith in science are almost as rare as  
Sherlock Holmes.  Even on this list, we find many people who  
rationalize  to protect their emotions and support the more  
comfortable theses.  There certainly are not enough true scientists  
to run a democracy; and apparently not enough to keep it informed in  
the face of financial interests.  However, just because a blind man  
says the sun is shining, the sky does not go dark.
