I never heard of Ceramatec, so I had a quick peek at their web site and
it looks like they have a lot of interesting projects on the go.
With a quick glimpse I couldn't find which of their patents would be the
cold plasma tarry gas cleanup, maybe someone else can?

On thing that I did see there was an interesting looking hydrogen filter
(separator):

What really tweaked my interest is its input parameters: 800-900C,
50-100psi. This is perfectly matched to a pressurized gasifier, or even
better (as they themselves point out) a way to get hydrogen production
from an IGCC plant.
(to be fair they don't really say what contaminants they can and can't
tolerate...)
