[Gasification] Gasifier to run IC engine AND make charcoal at the same time?

   Having become interested in terra preta, I'm wondering about the best
way to make charcoal. I know how to do it in a drum, and have done it
many times in a TLUD stove, but that burns up the gas. Just heating a
drum full of wood makes too much tar. Can you have a gasifier that
doesn't burn up the resultant charcoal and makes clean gas as well?
