[Gasification] Chip / Fuel feeding

My suggestion for chip feeding would be to consider a "slip stick"
system. This system is similar to an oscillating conveyor but doesn't
throw the material up and slide the sheet, just does the table cloth
under the dinner trick and moves the sheet very quickly in one direction
then back much more slowly. The food, pharmaceutical and scrap metal
industries have been switching to these systems because they don't
"sort" materials and they are very robust. There is a couple of fairly
simple linkages that can get you that motion, the easiest being the
linkage used in old fast return shapers. One of the interesting things
about this system is that it can be used to move mixed materials that
are filling a horizontal tube, with no air space at the top. I have
an interesting system in mind for it myself but am too busy to pursue
right now. If you want I can forward a sketch.
I agree that people should be making a greater effort to "clip" there
posts to the relevant bits, also people should check the subject line to
make sure it's appropriate and not just
