Actually I could see a way to do it, but it would mean that the person doing 
the work would have to put some more effort into it.

Personally I would prefer this option since that reduces to total amount of 
stock shipped( not to mention getting it rolled out and welded ).    I 
wouldn't know where to take it to get it rolled, OTOH, even I can grind away 
a few .10's of an inch if need be.

There is this too, a welder can also build up material if need be.

Maybe I am just looking at it from the standpoint of my last full time job - 
which was a sheet metal tech, and we worked from the stand point of building 
up material, and then grinding it down to proper shape where no one would 
ever know that there was a weld at that point.

( You know your getting to be hot stuff with a grinder, when your using a 9 
inch pneumatic on really soft aluminum sheet metal, and the boss comes by 
and wants to know were the weld was ) <wink>
