For many years in New Zealand, gasoline was made by the following process :

natural gas > synthesis gas > methanol > gasoline.

Substitute biogas for natural gas, and one has "biogasoline".

However, I understand that butanol has been used as a substitute for rather
than a precursor of gasoline. Please confirm or deny.

Thank you. ###
