Gas list; if mixed with gasoline ethanol in blend E85 it have 105 octane number. What means that?. In SAE test exist an motor with variable compression rate. When it knocks increasing compression in self igniting this is octane number. This is as Premium gasoline
AVGas have 130 octane number because is toluene derivative. Common leaded gasoline have 86 octanes. Straight ethanol motors in Brazil maked from 30 years they have 11,5 to 1 ratio . Gasoline motors 8,5 to 1. Higher compression ratio gives more thermal efficiency as Carnot theorem says.
You dont imagine how enormous area we have in South America able to produce in wet lands not only cattails many others fast grwing products. Douglas Tompkins have 8.500 squrae Km in Carrientes province of Argentine.
