There are several fairly reasonable forecasts of demand available, although 
they of course don't agree, especially about China and India !   For example, 
how many private passenger vehicles will each country have ten years from now, 
how many miles will they be driven in year and what will the average miles per 
gallon be ?

One which you might want to look at is prepared regularly by the 
International Energy Agency, only I forget its name.
