Jim and all,

Please tell us more about this as it develops. For example, what are the
possible entries, and by whom? Which ones are seeking sponsors? And some
technical info.

Request for technical info #1: Depending on the route, it is about 500 miles
(800 km) (at least easy numbers to work with.) Assuming typical wood biomass
and a low to medium weight vehicle, how many kg (or pounds) of wood is that
likely to require (just broad numbers are fine)?

To scrounge that much wood from public or private lands may or may not be
"proper conduct." To have "filling stations" along the way where fuel
could be
"purchased" would be more realistic of what the future of non-petro-vehicles
might be like.
