How long is a piece of rope? :-)
Gasification is definitely economic in cases where fuel and labor costs
are reasonable, and the cost of alternative end forms of energy are
adequately high.
Gasifiers can be manually operated (cheap) or automated (expensive.)
Alternative power can be cheap ($C.08 per kW grid connected in New
Brunswick) to expensive (when based on imported diesel fuel costing
about $2.50 per litre.
The specific answer to your question is site specific.
Best wishes,
Kevin
