Dear Kevin and gasification colleagues.

gasifier?
It is an interesting and important question, which has not deeply been
addressed, in this discussion list. Fortunately there are some hints coming
from a European project which has been working on this issue.
Not very long ago we had a national workshop addressing this matter,
considering we are also involved in introducing biomass gasification based
technology for heating needs and power generation.
To those who are interested in getting a preliminary deeper insight on risk
and hazards linked to gasification system and also how to deal with them, I
suggest to visit this website: http://www.gasification-guide.eu
If I remember well there is a reference to this project on our gasification
webpage.
Kindest regards.
Oscar.

Dear Dave, John and List
Very interesting.
Insurance companies insure against risk and hazard. If they don't know
what they are insuring, then they will charge a high rate.
What are the risks and hazards associated with a gasifier? What could go
wrong that would endanger people or property?
Are the hazards any greater than those associated with a gas fueled furnace?
What Safety Devices could be included, to give the Insurance Company
comfort, so that they did not have to charge the long rate?
Best wishes,
Kevin

million range. Cool Ins., Lathim, N.Y. or a guy out of Salt Lake. I can't
remember his name, and I'm on the road right now. Insurance should be
doable.

is what insurance would be prudent. Any suggestions as to agencies (other
than Lloyd's of London)?
