We are very please to inform that our company received Mr. Douglas Williams
second visit. Our work over these two fruitful weeks was directed to the
first trials on the Andes class gasifier. It’s a 300 Kw thermal, down draft
gasifier. All trials were made on a manual basis,( related to the feeding
and monitoring system). The combustion air for the oxidation zone was pushed
in by a low pressure centrifugal fan (12 Inches W.C), and the produced gases
were burned in a cyclonic type ceramic burner, with a second centrifugal fan
. After the first run, only minor adjustments were needed; these were
related principally to seal problems which are very noticeable in the
pressurized mode. The purpose of these first trials was to demonstrate how
steady this gasifier goes with very little attention, no tapping or shaking
to keep the gas flowing. This point is of great importance, when the
gasifier is tuned to the correct fuel size and type of wood, no mucking
around is needed.
I'm pleased to say that with Doug's assistance we went into gasification
through the right door, no "cow dung", and very straight forward, reliable
stuff. The good news about this is that we can start thinking in the real
market that needs reliable stuff to work with.
I know this is not new technology, but it's a safe starting point when
you're spending your hard earned buck.
Thanks again Doug, here in Chile you have sowed over fertile soil.
