DEAR Ben ...
WHEN I READ FALLOWING ESSAY BELONGS TO YOU ,
I GOT IDEAS TO DISCUSS WITH ALL IN THIS GROUP THAT I AM
PROUD OF TO BE MEMBER ..
THE IDEA IS : CANT WE PRODUCE BIO/FULES IE : METHANOL BY USING EXSISTING
CO2 IN AIR BY ABCENCE OF ANY GASIFICATION TECHNOLGIES ?
SO WE CAN RECYLE CO2 AND CONVERT GREENGASES IN TO FUELS ..
MR BEN PLS INFROM YOUR CONTACT DETAILS I LL NEED TO VISIT YOU SOON ?

In 1967 in Universidad de La Plata in his Dept of Metallurgy we
produce copper 99,999 purity.
With this was made monocrystals to use in "dopped" materails for semicondutors.
In 1977 we try to finish our metallurgy career in University of Leeds , UK.
In this time we receive books about methanol production and custom.
Principally I remember about fuel cell as future device to drive cars.
In 2003 we go to EMBRAPA , Colombo, Paraná state, Brazil; to study
about fuels from biomass.
We take handbook of CETEC, Minas Gerais with all options of charcoal
production and
different fuels as ethanol from sugar cane or methanol from wood chips.
Studying the question we look wood consumption in Reichert-Lurgi (1930)
method for methanol production using 2,5 Kg of wood chips to one liter methanol.
In Jupiá SP Brazil was installed an factory to produce methanol by
electric arc in gasifier.
This way wood consumption drops to 1,3 Kg to liter methanol avoiding
to use oxygen and steam.
In Jupiá is placed an Soviet made hydroelectric dam. Also
Battelle-Columbus is an option to produce methanol from Syngas at low
energy consumption.
If fuell cell develops are advanced take care because it can beat any
others proposal of fuel cars and small batterys.
Doctor Thomas B. Reed defends methanol as cheaper fuel and easy
production from many differents raw materials. We translate to spanish
his matter;
"Methanol, an versatile fuel for inmediate use". There tells about
Peter Robeck an plane pilot fled
over Stalingrado in WWII using water/methanol mix in Me 109 planes motors.
Ethanol in Brazil was received an enormous amount of press dumping in
media; visiting São Paulo
doctor George William Bush march 2007 with an C5A following him
carrying his "combo".
Believe it or not 2007 was produced less ethanol than 2006 caused by
oil price increase. Sugar cane production is also "oil addict".
Yields 14 Kg to one liter ethanol.Forestrys for methanol production
are cheaper and waste less oil to set. Regards, Ben
