In interview to the periodical the Globo, of 23/09/2001, the professor of
History Contemporary, of Rio de Janeiro Federal University, Daniel Aarão
Reis, one of the 40 militant ones banished for Algeria, in exchange for the
ambassador of Germany, affirmed: " The armed actions of the Brazilian left

the dictatorship, not because people wanted a democracy, but to restore the
socialism in the Country, by means of a revolutionary dictatorship, as it
existed in China and Cuba. But, evidently, they spoke in resistance, much
more likeable, mobilizadora, agglutinant word. This is a teaching that comes
of the classics on the war”.
