Dear Frank,
I use an electric cart and I can say that there is no need to ruggedize
them. They are well built at least my 80's club car is. I've been hauling
compost, two mile one way, from the thermo-biopile to my new garden. It's
used on and off road. Of course most of the roads are dirt and the one
paved road has over 8' berms to ride on.
I have my doubts about the electric car, do we have enough copper for all
the motors? Hard to beat good old cast iron.
