[Greenbuilding] oil burners

The Energy Star website has directories of qualified products.
There are several oil forced air furnaces with AFUE's of 95%.
For a 40KBtu 2 stage with ECM 96% natural gas I would pay $1400 + tax.
You probably have Biodiesel available to you in 15% and 85% mixes.
The greenest thing is to do every thing you can to reduce your load.
Be sure to do a Manual J load calculation so you don't oversize the unit.
Do a Manual D & T to make sure the ducts are adequate.
Tighten the ducts and test to verify <6% leakage.
Could you put in a hydronic air handler/fan coil and run it off your
water heater?
And upgrade the water heater now, or later?
