The 600 per square number is for new construction. I think the 7-800 for
tear off old and install a new metal system is likely reasonable in your
market area. A good standing seam system is expensive right out of the
gate. If you decide to use standing seam, I suggest you seek out the
trade contractor with the best reputation in your immediate area. A good
place to start checking is with material suppliers. They ALWAYS know who
REALLY is good and fair! Saving a few dollars on this kind of building
system, while important, is not at the TOP of the list of concerns I
would recommend. Another source of information would be to ask general
contractors that you know have a good reputation who they would
recommend. I would guess that if you ask enough questions in "the
industry" you will eventually know you have the best solution.
Unfortunately, there is just no certainty when trying to put such a
