I have a question from a user of the SBC forums,

³I am installing a Radiant Floor/Ceiling heating system into a hundred year
old home in Strathcona. I would like to connect with other home owners that
have gone through the learning curve. I will be running the PEX myself but
am looking for some friendly advice.²

So far my answer is below (for full answer with hyperlinks go here:

):

³Thanks for the question. For some basic background on radiant floor
heating, the Oregon Department of Energy has a nice overview article here,
and "Hometips" has a good practical write-up here. If you are keen to share
stories with other homeowners, Heathly Heating has a forum solely dedicated
to "radiant based HVAC systems and building science."

I have sent it out to a few of the listserves that I am on, one of which has
some useful discussion archived here.

I have also sent it out to some of the contractors in the SBC network. I'll
let you know what response I get.²

Any general advice or help? Please let me know, or add it here:

THANKS in advance,
