OK, the third reason to separate urine from the solids (euphemism indeed) is
it is more convenient to pee in various places. I keep a couple of plastic
jugs in a tray next to the bed. I'm older and I urinate a couple of times a
night. I barely even wake up. My wife uses a quart yoghourt container to
pee in because it is easier for her to hit reliably than the opening of a gallon
milk jug. The jugs are convenient storage and the urine is better
fertilizer if it ages a bit anyway. (Less likely for the Nitrogen to leach from the
soil.) If you have no place to fertilize, then what's the point? I'd agree
with that. I pee in a jug regardless of what kind of toilet we have because
the urine is convenient fertilizer ready to use with a little dilution. I've
been known to walk between the rows of crops during a rain storm, a jug in
either hand, fertilizing the crops as I go. No worry about getting urine on
crop leaves. It washes off immediately. No need to dilute. Mom is doing
that automatically. No worry about observers. All the sane people are
indoors where it is dry and the (other) crazies don't care.
