[Greenbuilding] warp and wobble

When we install fiber cement siding, we install 1 1/2"w furring strips
ripped out of 1/4" ply, directly over tyvek, up to 24" oc.  We also use 1
1/2" thick corner boards and casings for a nice shadow line at edges, and to
capture the laps.  Have not noticed any wobble.  We had tried installing
hardi, etc over Benjamin Obdyke "Rain Slicker", which did tend to compress
and cause a case of the wobbles.

How are you developing the air gap behind the boards?  I was told that
hardiboard (which I am using) will warp and wobble if it is not
supported continuously.
