totally and completely untrue - AlbereneSoapstone has been producing  
domestic soapstone for 120 years (except for a few years when hurricane Camille  
devastated the plant) - NOTHING is imported, whereas the folks selling Vermont  
Soapstone actually bring it in from Brazil !!!!!! (and of course, Tuli Kivi  
comes from Finland)
 
my development The Quarries ecoVillage was built on 580 acres of former  
soapstone quarry property - so I am intimately involved with the plant (and yes  
am an investor there) - other than one very small  part-time New England  
operation I beleive that Alberene Saopstone is the ONLY supplier of domestic  
soapstone in the country - check out their web site
