Hello Greenbuilders,
I haven't posted for a while, but I enjoy watching the list whenever
I have a moment. Thanks for the great ongoing conversations!
I hope it's okay to share one of the reasons I've been so busy; I've
become the Director of a wonderful degree program in EcoDwelling that
may be of interest to list members. EcoDwelling is a Concentration
offered by New College of California’s North Bay campus in Santa
Rosa, CA. Our campus offers two degree programs associated with the
EcoDwelling Concentration –- a one-year MA degree, and a one-year BA
Completion degree in Culture, Ecology, and Sustainable Community.
Students attend classes two weekends a month, allowing them to hold
jobs or attend from a wide geographic area. BA and MA students can
choose among several Concentrations, one of which is EcoDwelling.
The EcoDwelling Concentration is unique in its holistic, integrated
approach. We aren’t just looking at houses; we look at how to heal
our whole dwelling process. We don’t teach piecemeal solutions; we
study the roots of our current dwelling crisis, enter the worldview
shift that will allow life on earth to thrive, and engage practical
visionary solutions, from the scale of the individual home to the
community level. Our curriculum combines classroom teaching,
discussion, hands-on building, and individual projects.
We accept new students twice a year, in fall and spring—and there’s
still time to register for Fall Semester. The Fall Semester starts in
early September, 2006. If you or anyone you know is interested in New
College North Bay programs, please visit newcollege.edu/northbay or
contact Program Counselor Rivian Berlin at 707-568-3093 or
rberlin at newcollege.edu.
Feel free to forward this message!
