George

you asked what causes acidic water?

chemicals whether natural or man made
for example tannic acid (released by decaying leave in streams for
example)

chemicals can be "filtered" or neutralized and the pH restored

See http://www.aquapurefilters.com/contaminates/151/ph.html
and http://www.reopure.com/acidicwater.html
