Perhaps this is an odd scenario, but since I notice several folks here
opening up walls after they've (had them) filled with cellulose I thought it
may be worth inquiring about:

My house: 1894 single story 660 square foot house with 11' ceilings; 2x4
walls with lath & plaster (+ sheetrock in some rooms) on inside; 1x8 siding
+ asbestos tiles on outside. Uninsulated. Very little wiring in exterior
walls. Almost 7' tall double hung windows.

What I plan to do:
(Stage 1--soon/maybe) cut holes on inside of exterior walls; blow in
cellulose; close holes;

(Stage 2--two to four winters down the road/definitely) remove asbestos &
siding; deal with all that cellulose (!?); add a Larsen Trusses or related
configuration to substantially increase the wall thickness; widen all the
door and windows jambs; blow in much more (wet?) insulation; reside.

Question: Is it reasonable to assume that I can/will want to deal with all
that loose cellulose I blew in in Stage 1 when I get around to Stage 2, as a
tradeoff to the several winters' worth of extra firewood I would have
otherwise had to cut, split, haul, stack & burn?

Assuming the answer is yes, how might I go about collecting this stuff (for
reuse)?

Or should I skip Stage 1 and go cut more firewood?
