Well, A larsen truss was invented to go on the outside of buildings to
avoid having to disturb existing insulation, so it may be that you
don't need to remove the insulation in the existing wall.
Whether to trade off blowing in insulation in exchange for cutting,
splitting, hauling, stacking firewood is pretty much a no-brainer.
I can understand wanting to get rid of the asbestos, but undisturbed it
is pretty harmless. Removing it will cause exposure, but then it will
be gone. A decision best made by someone trained and on-site, I
expect.
