We are putting together a design / build project for a
residence in Waveland, MS. We have set some high goals
- to seek LEED for Homes; to demonstrate reclaimed
materials from the region as much as possible; to be
affordable; and to use students for parts of the build
as appropriate.
I have been back and forth from NOLA to Biloxi, 1/2
dozen times since Katrina, observing, asking
questions, taking photos - there are beginning to be
signs of building in MS using various systems.
Two inquiries if anyone can help -
Do you know of any green-familiar building contractors
operating in Southern MS at this time ?
Any initial conclusions or considered opinions on
which of the many systems being promoted or used for
residential construction in MS at this time are really
any better than basic stick-frame built correctly ?
Thanks,
Brad Guy
