Is this actually true, in woodstoves? If you burn pine and such,
you get creosote build-up in the chimney, which brings an increased
risk of chimney fires. And the manufacturer will tell you not to
burn such things as cardboard, because of the glues and resins. Most
woodstoves don't get hot enough to incinerate everything.
I've often felt that one of the unsung virtues of masonry stoves
is that they burn so hot that you can put just about anything in them
and there's no creosote build-up, because the secondary products get
combusted, too.
