Oh my! I will have to try them! I forgot that legume blossoms are also usually edible, just like the beans! We've been discussing Honey Locust, which sports 8" daggers, but Black Locust is much more cooperative, having only 1/2" thorns. I live in a whole forest of it.

Other than the wood, in my opinion, the best thing about black locust
is the delicious blossoms (great on salad or the whole thing dipped
in batter and fried like a fritter).
