Ya, he probably was looking so healthy because he wasn't in his house!
Seriously, mold affects different people to varying degrees.  I have all
kinds of allergies, yet have lived with mold for about ten years with no
apparent ill effects except a warped sense of humor.  Other people get
sick just stepping into such a house.  There are houses with a lot of
cockroaches that I step into and immediately can't breathe, other people
can't figure out what is wrong.  You never know which kind you are.
