[Greenbuilding] temperature recording thermometer...?

I'm looking for the following: a thermometer that keeps track not only of
max and min temperatures (I have such a one), but that will allow me to
trace the rate at which, for instance, my uninsulated house loses heat. I
don't know if this means it must connect to a computer, or if this is
potentially available as a unit. I don't want to spend a bundle on this, but
if anyone knows of or has experience with such a device I'd love to learn
about it. If, for instance, it kept track of hourly temperatures that would
be fine.
