Thermal Chart Recorders.
These fit the bill quite nicely. Here's a couple of links here for your

Apparently one can rent equipment like this from some sources, (link
below) and you might luck out and find something like this on eBay for
not very much.
Renting/ leasing scientific instrumentation of various types:

They don't seem to have any inexpensive chart recorders, though, but
this shows such companies exist.
