[Greenbuilding] [BULK] renewable-energy ready homes

Educate me a little on "RE-Ready".
In my own house we stubbed out lines for rooftop solar water heaters,
and stubbed out a #6 wire for rooftop solar electric panels. You could
go further and add measures to the electrical panel such as a
disconnect, arrangement for two meters, or a battery room. Definitely
allow some room in the mechanical closet for an oversized water storage
tank.

Subject: [BULK] [Greenbuilding] renewable-energy ready homes
Importance: Low
Hi all
Working on a project to outline the requirements for RE-ready homes
(limited to these systems: a standard 2 collector or 30tube solar
thermal system, <2kW PV (grid-tie with and without battery backup) and
<5kW wind).
If anyone has experience with new residential construction that includes
RE-ready measures, please let me know if you would be willing to either
discuss on this forum or have me contact you directly and
confidentially.
Would like to hear about the measures taken to make a new home RE-ready.
Impacts on site planning, space planning, plumbing, wiring, etc.
What guidelines, standards, regulations were involved?
Some of the other questions I'm looking at are:
Is 'solar ready' or 'wind ready' a realistic selling point?
Are there any stats on the uptake? How many RE-ready homes were sold,
how many RE-ready homes are now RE-powered homes, what was the time
period between purchase of RE-ready home and installation of the system
itself?
I will post the results if folks are interested.
Thanks so much
